It's almost that time of year again! Wednesday, September 23 is National Science Reading Day!
This is a time when we're all encouraged to take some time to read about all things science and engineering. From news and magazine articles to graphic novels and non-fiction deep dives, it's a time for science to shine.
And as much as reading about science is its own reward, it never hurts to have a contest full of actual rewards, too! That's why we've partnered again with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to bring you the National Science Reading Day Contest!
Read and enter!
This contest is open to kids aged 3–17, as well as elementary and secondary school classrooms. Entering is simple!
First, on either September 22, 23,or 24 (or all of them!) devote some time to science reading. Some suggested reading:
- non-fiction book

- science magazine or website
Check out our full list of suggested reading ideas here!
Once you've done that, either take a photo of yourself reading or write down your science reading list and send it to us! The full contest details can be found HERE.
