9 year-old Isla tells us what she really thinks (spoiler alert: she really likes it!) about Look Out for the Fitzgerald Trouts, a new book about a band of kids that live together a on a tropical island.
What did you think, Isla?
This book has some really great characters. I think it's funny that Mr. Knuckles sort of speaks like a caveman. I really thought it was hilarious when Pippa said, "Your lyin' heart will tear us apart and make me fart!" I think Penny looks really cute. I liked it a lot when Tina and Clive got bit by all those blood-sucking iguanas. I also liked this part: "One's biting his ear!" (I think that's Tina)
There weren't really any parts I didn't like about the book. I might have not liked a few bits, but most of the book I definitely enjoyed (partly because I'm a "bookworm").
Do you recommend it?
I think other kids would definitely like this book. It has action, scary parts, and hilarious parts. I think the emotions they might feel by reading it would be excited, surprised, and happy.
If I were to choose how good this book was on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it an 8.
Pretty good score, if you ask us! So maybe grab a copy and add it to your summer reading list?
Thanks for this review, Isla! It makes me so happy to hear what kids who are reading the book think of the adventure. The Fitzgerald-Trouts go on the road again in a new book – Knock About with The Fitzgerald-Trouts – coming your way in May 2017!
