Every two weeks, we publish a new issue of our tablet and computer-friendly eMag, OWLconnected. It's free for OWL magazine subscribers.
In Issue 159, we are taking a walk on the wild side. That's because March 3 is World Wildlife Day, a time for us all to celebrate and recognize the importance of the world's wild animals and what they bring to our ecosystems and habitats.
Wild animals rule!
But many are also sadly under threat, a big reason why World Wildlife Day is a thing in the first place. We want and need these animals to stick around. And to show you that we mean it, we're using this issue to highlight a few success stories where people are giving animals a helping hand!
Moving back home
One of the biggest movements in animal conservation these days is species reintroduction. This is where an animal that has disappeared from a particular habitat or part of the world is brought back. This time, hopefully for keeps! In Issue 159, we look at five inspiring success stories from around the world where animals are making their move back home.
We then take this animal theme into a slightly different direction with a review of a new game for the Nintendo Switch called Blanc. This co-op two player puzzle game pairs a deer fawn and a wolf cub who have both lost their families following a massive snowstorm. What did our reviewer think of the cool new black and white game? It's in the issue!
And in addition to this, we've got a new OWLconnected General KnOWLedge video, a quiz all about Pokemon(!), and our Buzz section where kids have their say! 159 is mighty fine!
