On July 16, a new chapter in an ageless movie saga is going to be written. What's coming?
A new Lord Of The Rings film? A standalone Star Wars movie? A interstellar sequel to Wall-E?
Not exactly ... a new Space Jam!
Though a bit of an odd idea when it came out—superstar player Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes playing a basketball game against aliens?—the original 1996 film has stuck around to become a true kids classic. Now, 25 years later, Space Jam: A New Legacy is finally here to give fans another meeting of ballers and cartoons.
This time, it's LeBron 'King' James in the Michael Jordan role. And things aren't happening in space. Instead, King James gets sucked into a bizarro internet world called the Serververse. How can he escape? Well, we think you know. Let's play ball!
Of course, animation has come a loooooong way since 1996. To see just how much, check out the truly bonkers trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy below!
Dunk fest fun!
That looks pretty wild. And if you want even more basketball antics, we've got you covered. This video collects the Top 10 Dunks of the last decade. There's even a pair of ex-Toronto Raptors in the list! And if you look really close, you'll spot one of the players wearing a 'Tune Squad' shirt.
Hmm ... we wonder where we've seen one of those before ...
Check out the dunks below, then go hit the court for some springtime hoops yourself. Have a great weekend!
